Latest song from Alaskan Tapes premiered via Electronic Groove

Self-taught ambient electronic producer, Alaskan Tapes has just had his latest track, ‘And, We Disappear’ premiered via Electronic Groove. The track is due to be released Thursday the 5th of September and will be the third single released from his upcoming LP, ‘Views From Sixteen Stories’. You can preorder the upcoming album here.

One of the goals of the album was to have as much french horn on it as possible, I fell in love with the instrument a little while ago after rediscovering Olafur Arnalds track ‘Dalur’ which features his solo piano, as well as the french horn player Þorkell Jóelsson and the Brasstríó Mosfellsdalur.Alaskan Tapes on the core concept behind the track.

The french horn does indeed shine through consistently, in a beautifully gentle manner. While it’s easy for the horn to take centre stage within an ambient track, we rather see artistic embellishment on the core concept laid down by Alaskan Tapes. Jay Austin (of Hogtown Brass) is responsible for this delicate embellishment in this track and all other other featured French horn pieces in the upcoming album.

According to his website, Alaskan Tapes’ creations have been featured in several short films, including “Childhood Trauma” and “Mag Sein” by Director Eliot Rausch, or “ABADDON” by Director Rogerio Silva, amongst others.
